Bayard is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in compliance with EU- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, dated April 27th 2016. We know that providing personal information is an act of trust and we take that trust seriously.  

This Privacy Policy sets out Bayard's commitments regarding the protection of your personal data and how it is collected and used. It applies to the use of our products and to our sales, marketing and customer contract fulfilment activities.

 

WHAT PERSONAL DATA ARE COLLECTED ON OUR WEBSITE

Why?

As a data controller within the Data Protection Act, Bayard is responsible for the personal data collected.

The data is collected to enable you to receive personalised offers from us. The data also allows us to administer and improve our business marketing and services for our customers.

When collecting your personal data, you are informed of the mandatory nature of the information requested, in order to qualify for the service. However you have a right to access, update and delete your customer data.

Bayard collects data including name, address, email address, telephone number and/or credit card, child’s date of birth, username/password. The child’s date of birth is used for content research purposes. By providing the child’s date of birth you are helping us to ensure that the magazine content is appropriate for the age group.

For the shipping address and other delivery details please be aware that unless specified otherwise any payment information such as name and billing information, phone number and credit card details may be provided directly to and held by third party payment processor on our behalf.

You will be offered the opportunity to receive commercial offers from Bayard and you must provide explicit consent by checking a box that confirms your agreement to receive communications from us. You will can withdraw your consent at any time.

How secure is your information?

The security of your personal information is very important to us.  Your information is stored in secure databases and filing systems, and we use encryption technology to protect your credit card and other payment information during transmission to prevent tampering and credit card fraud.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file, saved on the hard disk of your computer at the request of the server managing the visited website. It contains information about the navigation made on the pages of this site and makes it easier to use the site later on your next visit. It can help us identify and resolve errors. HOW DOES BAYARD USE YOUR DATA?

Declarative data is required for registering and managing your orders, or for using services offered by the Bayard website.

  • To process and mail magazine subscriptions

  • To process and fill product orders including magazines, ebooks, single issues, eMagazines, etc.

  • To mail renewal notices.

  • To communicate information and promotional and events offers

  • Surveys, polls, and contest administration.

  • respond to and communicate with you about your requests, questions and comments;

Your e-mail address can be used to send you offers and products similar to those you have already ordered.

- When collecting your email address, or later, you will be offered to check a box confirming your agreement to receive commercial offers from Bayard. If you agree by checking this box, Bayard will be able to send you offers, new product information, events, competitions by email.

Bayard implements all the technical means to guarantee the security of your data personal data and to prevent any risk of loss, deterioration or misuse thereof.

WHAT ARE THE ADDRESSEES OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Your Personal Data is not disclosed to third parties, except in the following cases:

- when Bayard has to share your Personal Data with the business partners (such authorized by you), suppliers, service providers and in particular technical service providers for the purpose of provision of services, the resolution of problems in the operation of services or for the purpose of offering advertising and promotional information in relation to the services offered by Bayard

- Bayard provides your Personal Data to third-party companies to provide services on its behalf, including the processing of payments, the analysis of data, the processing of mailing campaigns, management of subscription information flows and re-subscriptions, the hosting of services, the treatment of certain marketing aspects of services;

- in the event of a change of control of the Bayard Group and its subsidiaries or the sale of all or part of its assets, the Bayard Group will be authorized to transfer your Personal Data;

- Bayard does not transmit your Personal Data to third party advertisers for the purpose of targeted marketing.
